Off and running
In life, one must occasionally throw caution to the wind and do something a little crazy.
In that spirit, Jerri and I quit our jobs in Chicago, moved our stuff to Minneapolis (where I’ll go to law school in the fall) and are now embarking on a three month trip that will take us to New York (where we are right now), London, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Uganda, Italy, and back through London and New York
As we document our experiences on this little Web site, it will move away from the impersonal political haranguing that all my thousands of readers came to know and love and move instead to more personal reflections.
Getting that ball rolling, here are a couple of pictures that document the interesting phenomenon I noticed that, unshowered and unshaven, I bear a striking resemblance to artist Chuck Close.
Here’s Close in a famous self portrait that hangs at the Walker Art Center.
Here’s me in the middle of packing up everything we own.
Uncanny, no?
