Back in Nairobi

Mark Wagner

We’re back in Nairobi after an amazing four days of hiking, reading, writing, and meeting some really interesting people in Sipi, Uganda.

To get here, we’ve had 12 hours of buses, matatus, and a long distance taxi that kept threatening to strand us half way between here and Eldoret. So we’re in no condition for a long blog post.

Luckily, one of the (more qualified) participants of the conference I was lucky enough to attend in Jinja has done the work of writing up a really good summary of what happened there. So that saves me the work of trying to do that now.

We’ll both have something more to write here when we get back from a short camping safari in three days times. We’ve been in East Africa for about two and a half months, so I guess it’s time to see some big animals. We’ll be in the Masai Mara, which is part of the Serengeti plain.

Jerri is most excited about giraffes. I’d like to see a cheetah eating a giraffe. And I’d also like to see some ostriches.

Right now, it’s time for a Tusker.

  1. Thanks for all of the great posts to date-the vicarious living has been good for my world view. If you don’t get to see a cheetah eating a giraffe, I hope you at least see an ostrich or two before they hide their heads. :) Have a Tusker for all of us here with the Hump Night Thumpers!
